Comfortable room, hot shower, great food, friendly staff - I'm very happy!

Stayed at the Glen Hotel to break the journey from Sutherland to Penrith. The welcome was professional and warm. The food was excellent, and good value. Accommodation is clean, spacious, and has comfortable beds. Would use again.

This hotel is in a quiet location at the end of the town. The staff here are extremely friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. The food is outstanding. I had the venison and it was “melt in your mouth” tender. The bar has a great variety of drinks too. And breakfast is excellent. Great choices and plenty of it. Finally, the room was a good size and clean. The bed was very comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel.

We were a group of four that stayed just the onenight. We were welcomed in as soon as we arrived, with little in the way of formalities and within a couple of minutes were in our rooms. These were comfortable and spacious, with comfortable chairs and beds, with all we could wise for in tea and coffee. Only downer was the remote tv control that seemed to have a mind of its own.

We only stayed for one night at this hotel, unfortunately. From start to finish, everything was spot on. Cozy atmosphere, great food, all fresh, a comfortable room, good facilities, and a very welcoming feeling. This is truly a hotel you need to experience for yourself rather than just reading reviews! I went there with some hesitation (not in a negative way!) but I can wholeheartedly say: I would go back in a heartbeat! Thank you so much! :)

We have just completed a holiday in and around Newtonmore and stayed here for nearly a week. The room was a good size and very clean. The room included an en suite. The bed was very comfortable and the room lovely and warm. Many thanks to Chris who looked after us very well and also all the staff who were all very friendly. The breakfast is amazing and easily one of the best breakfasts we have experienced anywhere. I would heartily recommend The Glen for a stay in the Highlands.

Everything was lovely, our welcome, bed very comfortable and the room clean and warm. The bar staff all very friendly and pleasant.A good choice on the menu and the food delicious.Would certainly return in the future.

We were delighted at how clean and modern everything was. Our room and bathroom were super clean and comfortable.The entire staff were so delightful to interact with, we ate dinner in the pub at night....delish. Breakfast was cooked to order, delightedly we were able to have a Cappuccino also. The small town had lovely walks in the area.What a gem!!!

A nice friendly Hotel. Clean warm rooms with plenty of space. The decor is pleasant and fresh. The dinner was great and tasty. Left for bed fully fed! If in the area again we will definitely stay again.

The Glen Hotel is lovely. Warm, clean and comfortable and we had a delicious breakfast to set us up for a day on the hills.

This is the second time we’ve stayed at The Glen and on both occasions it hasn’t disappointed. Very fairly priced, with lovely clean rooms and friendly staff. Food is also very good. Highly recommended for a stay in this part of Scotland.

I booked the hotel because from the pictures the rooms looked lovely and the food looked amazing.We got there and the staff were absolutely wonderful, incredibly friendly. The food was excellent and the rooms were extremely well kept and had a great decor.I would highly recommend to anyone to stay here and we will glady be back in the future

We stayed for 4 nights and were very well looked after by all the staff. Our room was very spacious and had a huge shower.The food served was plentiful and very tasty both at breakfast and dinner.This was our second stay at the The Glen Hotel and won’t be our last.

Nice room with bathroom, very comfortable kingsize bed. The restaurant with bar was very cosy. The meals were opulent and tasty. Breakfast offered everything needed and some more. We felt us at home and would come back anytime.

We stayed two nights after touring the NC500. This hotel is 5* in every way. But mostly the lovely people that run it & their staff make you feel welcome & their customer service is excellent. We are a family of two parents with two adult children.We stayed for two nights at the Glen hotel and everything was perfect. From housekeeping to the service in the bar/restaurant and breakfast. The one that caught my eye was a young man who was there from early in themorning until late in the night. Always happy, friendly and positive. We would definitely come here again.

This was a proper Scottish experience (all the way from Yorkshire) - Communication is key to the success of this wonderful hotel. Chris his wife and staff made us feel very welcome and it was the cornerstone of a very enjoyable golf break for the guys from Dundee - Many Thanks - Alex and the guys.

Only 8 rooms in this small local hotel, and they made you feel right at home.Super nice staff and maybe owner.They have a great restaurant that feels homey, with fun quotes and decorations on the walls.Room was great, nice big bed with heavy covers, comfortable all around, big bathroom with plenty of shelves and counters to put your things on (so many hotels have nothing for that).They even furnished the room with an armoire, a desk and a little table and sitting chair, although it made it a little crowded getting around it was nice to have.

The hotel has an excellent restaurant and bar and is within walking distance of other restaurants. Rooms were clean and of adequate size for a couple. We enjoyed visiting the McPherson Clan Museum across the street and their annual Highland Games.

Lovely hotel. Friendly hosts, nice room, good dinner.Only the breakfast stopped me giving a 5 star rating, with the full Scottish having a burned taste to it. I have stayed at a few hotels with this issue - in the evening there's a trained chef in the kitchen but in the morning it's whoever can wield a frying pan. Understand you don't want to pay a chef just for bacon and eggs, but it's still a bit of a skill.Still a great place though. Recommended.

Friendly hotel a short drive from the Aviemore area. Room has been very comfortable and well equipped. Breakfast is excellent. We ate at their restaurant the first night of our trip. We had three courses which says how good it was. Recommend the Venison Casserole and the Chicken Tikka Masala.

Once again we’ve had a lovely few days at the Glen Hotel.Hosts Chris and Kim are friendly and their hotel is run smoothly and efficiently.The room was spotless as was the en-suite.Breakfast is beautifully served by the lovely, always-helpful Connor.The evening menu is varied with lots of dishes to suit everyone’s taste.Delicious!My husband was unwell on one of the evenings and Kim was so kind and sympathetic.Very much appreciated.

Myself and my wife stayed here for a couple of nights and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit, Our room was very spacious with a large bathroom, Brilliant shower, The kingsize bed was very comfortable we sleptreally well, We also had two very comfortable chairs in our room, and a large TV with a great choice of channels, The Glen Hotel has a great bar with a great range of beers and serves great food and wine, The breakfast was excellent with a great choice of continental and full Scottish with tea and coffee, The staff are brilliant and very friendly and helpful and very attentive and will help you with any questions and information, We both would recommend the Glen Hotel to anyone whom are looking for a stay in the Highlands to stay here you won't be disappointed, There's also a large car park at the side of the hotel.

We stayed at the hotel for three nights. Although we prefer to eat at different places, we decided to have dinner at the hotel all nights. Evers dish was very tasteful. The breakfast was also very well organized, so that you can choose your own breakfast (including good coffee). The personnel was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean (bit loudy traffic noise the street).

We had eaten at the Glen in previous years but had never stayed there before. All the staff were excellent and couldn't do enough for us. The real ale and food added to our enjoyment.

The room was booked the day before, all went well as I had driven 460 miles .Pleasant welcome and explanation of what’s what. Breakfast was efficient and very good I thought. A good all round experience.

We've stayed a few times now, always good food (dinner andbreakfast), well stocked bar, a great welcome, very well organised, nice rooms, and good value.We will return next year.

We stayed there for 1 nigth and had a nice room with kingsizebed. We had our dinner there which was excellent with maybe to big portions. The breakfast was one of the best in our trip through Scotland !

First class accomodation. Everything was clean and staff very helpful. Dinner was good and adequate helpings, with small hepings available.Breakfast had wide variety, whatever you wanted.

Great communication via email prior to staying including confirmation of bike storage space, dinner reservation and increasing our booking by one night. Lovely spacious room with plenty storage and a nice bathroom. The breakfast was excellent and the restaurant had lots of great food options and local beers.

Glen Hotel was a lovely place to stay in the Cairngorm National Park. The room was large and beautifully decorated in navy,white and gold touches,including Highland cow cushions.Great bathroom. The view of the Highlands was a plus. The manager was so helpful.

We love this hotel and have visited many times before.Our room was spotless as was the en-suite shower room.Breakfast every morning was freshly cooked and delicious.We had dinner in the hotel on each of our three night stay and every meal was beautifully prepared and tasted fabulous.Chris and Kim and their staff are friendly and efficient and we couldn’t have enjoyed our stay more…..except perhaps for the terrible stormy, wet weather!We’ll be back!

The rooms are spacious (we had room 9 and would ask for it again if staying in the future). It’s clean and welcoming, warm and cosy.We don’t eat on this occasion but know the food is good from previous visits. Staff very pleasant and accommodating! Would recommend without question.

We now hold lovely memories from our stay in charming Newtonmore and the confidant, relaxed and welcoming staff at the Glen played a big part in making it happen. They provided for all our needs getting settled in and oriented to start exploring. This very comfortable, and well appointed hotel is within walking distance of train station and directly across the street from an interesting little museum for Clan MacPherson with their Highland presence through the centuries. Also we were centrally located for a number of great little restaurants and bars starting with the Glen’s own right down stairs. We hope to be back another stay someday.

Hotel opened up when closed due to A9 being closed due to snow conditions. This was greatly welcomed as we had visions of being stranded for hours in our car like many others. Although there was no restaurant or bar opened on the premises we had a marvellous cooked breakfast in the morning. The staff were excellent and friendly. Couldn’t have been nicer. Shops close by for snacks or a takeaway. Room had a very comfortable bed. Tea and coffee in room and hot shower and bath. Would recommend

Our room (9) was spacious and featured many thoughtful touches as well as which it was a warm and cosy haven on a bitterly cold night. Dinner was a delight, constructed from top quality produce including excellent local Cairngorm ales. Just to top off our experience, breakfast involved equally delicious elements including juicy black pudding and sausages with real flavour. With genial and helpful hosting and great value for money, what more could anyone want?

I stayed one night in the Glen Hotel in early October, enroute from the far Northwest of Scotland to the Ferry at Cairnyan.It is perfectly located just off the A9 road.I had a lovely dinner and an equally scrumptious breakfast.The room was very comfortable and well equipped.The two owners were very helpful and most pleasant.It is definitely worth considering the Glen Hotel as a place to stay.

We have stayed at the hotel before reason we go back every year . We live in Brighton but love going to Scotland. Chris and Kim not forgetting their staff are superb host. The staff was very welcoming. We had great food and slept well on the comfy bed. Location is good if you want to enjoy beautiful Scotland nature. We saw wild rabbits on our late afternoon walk.

Challenging times meant that there was no service on the Sunday evening/Monday morning.However the Saturday welcome/hospitality/meal/beers were all just as wonderful as ever!Also that the Sunday rate for 'B&B' was a bit excessive?

Thank you for the kind words. Just on the rate for 'room only' on the Sunday night this is £50.00 cheaper than the current B&B rate. With costs as they are now (energy etc) we cannot go any lower otherwise it would just not be economic.

Very welcoming and homely hotel. Good pub grub and breakfast. Very welcoming staff. Room is well equipped, generously proportioned and comfortable. Overall very good value for money.

Nice to return with my wife to this old favourite of mine from Munro bagging days and to find it as good as ever. The outgoing, cheerful and helpful character of the owners is reflected in their staff team. A tight ship is run and high standards maintained. Food is excellent and the availability of well kept cask beer a very big plus. A thoroughly enjoyable evening and overnight stay.And the kippers I had for breakfast were delicious.

Thank you for the kind review - it is appreciated. The Glen Hotel was built during the Edwardian era which adds to its charm but at that time no en suites. In order to make the rooms en suite some space has been lost and in fact the room that these guests stayed in is one of the larger rooms.

The Glen Hotel in Newtonmore is one of those small hotels we choose for an overnight stay when dinner is not guaranteed on site. We found everything as expected. The room was clean, we could store our bikes, we had a delicious dinner and a good choice of drinks. And the toilet flushing was unfortunately as expected: a time-consuming affair to say the least. You don't miss anything in life if you haven't been to the hotel, but then miss out on supporting the gastronomy. It is worth it! Only a one-time table occupancy per evening, I can't imagine that this is profitable in the long run.

We thank the reviewer for these lovely comments but wonder if there is a possible mix up in properties? We are not in walking distance of any local distilleries (the nearest is nearly 9 miles). We offer dinner every night we are open so it is possible to eat (reservations recommended) and we do not offer one time able occupancy for any reservations made for 7:30 pm or earlier. This guest did stay with us and did report an issue with the time it was taking for the water to refill in the toilet which was rectified the next day. Anyway, many thanks.

My husband and I stayed at the quaint Glen Hotel for 2 nights whilst we were on a house hunting trip in the area.The hotel is in the village of Newtonmore,just off the A9, so perfectly placed for easy access to the surrounding villages and only 40 minutes drive from the city of Inverness. Although a little bit dated in parts (modernisation in progress), it's spotlessly clean. We had a large well appointed room that had everything we needed. The king size bed was really comfortable, as was the quality down duvet and pillows. The spaciousbathroom had a large power shower.We had a delicious cooked breakfast in the breakfast room on both mornings and the quality of the produce was excellent. There was plenty of choice to suit everybody's preference.After our busy days out, we returned to the hotel and had a relaxing meal in the bar bistro on both evenings of our stay.Again, the food was delicious and the service was faultless. There's an impressive, reasonably priced bistro menu to cater for all tastes, including gluten free, vegetarian and vegan. The portions are generous and despite being busy, the food was served very soon after placing our order.Customer service was first class. Without exception, every team member we met was knowlegable, efficient and friendly and obviously enjoyed their jobs.More information about the hotel accomodation can be found on the website.We will definitely go back to the Glen Hotel.

We were on a road trip around Scotland and spent a few wonderful days in this warm and welcoming hotel. The owners and staff do everything they can to make customers feel welcome. The restaurant is really excellent (The delicious matured steak I had was cooked exactly as I asked - very rare - which is not frequent!). The rooms were clean and welcoming. The area is beautiful, we had a few good hikes and had the unplanned opportunity to attend the extraordinary Newtonmore Highland Games, which would have been worth the trip by themselves.We shall cretainly renew this beautiful experience, probably in another season.

Hotel was very helpful and accommodating as we were unable to check in until after it was closed. We were left with a code for the front door and our keys at reception and managed to get in great. Room was great and so were facilities. Had a great night sleep and was very peaceful! Shower was great and also had a lovely breakfast which was included in the price. Would definitely stay here again!

Years ago we enjoyed dinner here and decided to say here this time around. At check in were greeted warmly and the details of our stay were handled at this time with information about breakfast and an opportunity to book a table for dinner. The food here is well prepared and all the staff we encountered were friendly. Our room was much larger than we anticipated and it was very comfortable.

Absolute gem of a hotel. We arrived late but could still get drinks in the bar.Bed room was clean and well maintained, bathroom was fantastic with a brilliant shower.Breakfast the next morning was simply amazing, a full cooked breakfast and lots of cereal, fruit juice and continental offerings.We were made to feel very welcome by all the staff and nothing phased anyone.Thank you for a fantastic experience!!

We were a group of 5 staying for a week to enjoy the local mountain biking, walking and golf. The proprietor, Chris, was exceptionally helpful with all arrangements both before and during our stay as were all the staff at the hotel. This included giving access to a secure lockup to store bikes, golf clubs etc. Rooms were very comfortable and clean, the breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice, there were well kept real ales at the bar plus a range of wholesome evening meals on the menu. Thoroughly recommend this hotel.

From the minute we arrived Chris and his wife were so helpful and lovely. The Hospitality was absolutely amazing, the Food and Drink Top Class and the Rooms Top class also.Would definitely recommend this lovely place to stay.

The experience was great from when we booked in until we left. The room was big and very clean. The owner and his family and all the staff could not have been any more helpful and friendly. The food was really good for our evening meal and the next morning our breakfast was cooked to order. We only spent one night but will definitely be back.

Normally I don't write many reviews but I started this one before I'd even left the hotel.Really brilliant stay. The owners and the staff really do go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and make sure you're having a nice time, I felt really taken care of.I kept having to move my check in time back and they were so accommodating and understanding which gave me a great impression right off the bat.I have dietary requirements (vegan) and they ensured that I was taken care of in that regard too. Plenty of options. Breakfast was great, it was cooked and included a cold buffet of cereals etc, and was included in the price. Generous portions too which set me up for a day's hiking.The room was cosy, comfortable and well decorated and overall I felt I had everything I needed. The room and the hotel in general felt very 'homely'.The bar is great, many delicious beer options. Again the bar was very homely and I was worried that as a female solo traveller I would feel intimiated drinking/eating alone in a country pub but the atmosphere was very friendly and welcoming.I wish every hotel stay I have could be like this, I'll definitely be back soon with my partner. Glad to have found this gem.Special shout out again to the owners and the staff whose hospitality and kindness really made my whole stay a wonderful experience.

A well run and friendly family hotel on the edge of the village of Newtonmore,the Glen provides a genuine welcome, good food and well stocked bar. The family obviously takes pride in running an immaculate establishment and is most accommodating to the needs of residents. Nothing appears too much trouble and one feels in safe and competent hands. The en suite bedrooms are of a decent size, pleasant, comfortable and warm with quality beds and bedding. A good car park and pleasant outdoor surroundings complements the setting and it sits well with and in the local community.This is not the highest end luxury but a good, honest, hospitable hotel offering value and attention to detail and excellence at its trading level.

The Glen Hotel is immaculate throughout.Over the past years I often would stop for lunch on my way North and was struck by the quality of the food and the high standard of housekeeping so naturally would be pleased to stay there as a resident at any time, which I now do. It is a family run hotel and Mr Goodhill, his wife and sons run an excellent establishment with great emphasis on hospitality and one is always guaranteed a warm welcome and knowing one is in good and competent hands.

Check in was smooth and seamless and all details of our stay explained well. The room was warm and cosy, nice and clean with all the mod cons expected in this day and age. It was of good proportion with plenty of space for our clothes etc. as well as somewhere to sit. The bed was large and comfy and we both enjoyed sleeping on it. The food in the evening was very tasty, well presented and of a reasonable price, breakfast in the morning was tasty and plentiful. Throughout our stay our hosts were welcoming and made us feel right at home and this is somewhere I would happily go and stay again.

I think this is the fourth time my friend and I have stayed at the Glen Hotel. A couthie hotel, with a warm highland welcome and friendly staff. The fact that we return here, for what has become an annual hill trip, indicates that we love our stays here. Good, no-nonsense food and a beer or two, after a good's day climb. We always eat here in the evenings. Would recommend without hesitation.

Stayed for one night in November 22. Staff were friendly and helpful. Evening meal was excellent with a good choice. Room was good size and clean. The electric shower wasn't great and is possibly on its last legs!! Breakfast was world class with excellent quality ingredients. Would stay again.

Thank you for your kind words. We have checked the shower and could not find any issues. All our showers are power showers and have a pump built in to create apowerful jet of water due to low water pressure in the building. This pump does make a little noise which is perfectly normal. If the pump is not turned on then the flow from the shower is poor. We will arrange clearer instructions in the rooms.

Our 3rd visit here this year. Fantastic hotel- always greeted with a warm welcome. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Rooms very comfortable with lovely comfortable bed and great breakfast in the morning. Highly recommend having dinner here, food is delicious. Looking forward to our next visit.

This was sadly just a one night stopover. Hotel was clean and tidy and characterful. Breakfast was superb. Didn’t eat in the hotel, but the food looked and smelt delicious. Everyone was very kind and helpful.

The room we stayed in was very clean and inviting, (king Suit no9). It had a shower and a bath which was great for the perfect achey muscles before floating on the luvley comfy bed like a cloud! Breakfast was very nice with plenty of choice and fresh juices, and the staff were very polite, professional and very helpful and nothing was to much trouble. All in all it was great.

Really well equipped modern bathroom.We ate there one night and the food was very good, one of the better meals we had whilst in Scotland.We would not hesitate to stay again if we were ever in the area.

originally chosen because of a wedding that was partially cancelled due to Covid, we reserved the room for later times. Beautiful part of the world, the Glen Hotel is easily accessable from the A9 but tucked away to be a quite retreat. The room was comfortable but a little small. The staff were really welcoming and helpful and the food was very good - breakfasts and evening meals. In September it would seem to be a popular time of year because the bar and restaurant were full most every night. The haggis was excellent especaiily the started Haggis tower in a cream whisky sauce.

We had a great stay at the Glen in a lovely big room with a super king size comfy bed and a great size ensuite with walk in shower. It had everything we needed and we will definitely be back.

The Glen Hotel is welcoming and perfect for the needs of a short Highland break. The staff are very approachable, efficient and professional. The Glen Hotel was a great starting point for our Strathspey Way walk. The room was large and beautifully decorated. The bed was very large and comfortable...just what we needed after an uncomfortable journey on the Caledonian sleeper train. I only stayed one night. Greeted with a smile and all the idiosyncrasies of hotel policies clearly explained. The room was comfortable in size with a very comfortable bed and everything there that you needed.The restaurant staff were excellent, the food quickly served and of really good value, especially breakfast which was just superb. Our 2nd visit to this Hotel and will definitely be returning. Lovely location, room well equipped with huge comfortable bed, lovely and quiet. Food is excellent and popular with diners (the Lotus Biscoff cheesecake was to die for) and a great breakfast the following morning. A huge shout out has to go to the staff who make you feel very welcome from the moment you arrive. Looking forward to our next visit.

The hotel has a lovely atmosphere. It is at a great location as it is easy to explore the Highlands from there. The room was clean and cosy, bathroom was really big. The bed was comfortable and the staff really helpful and kind.The pub served delicious food.

A group of 8 of us stayed for two nights at the Glen Hotel and had a wonderful time. Chris and the team looked after us so well and nothing was too much trouble for them. All the food we had was really wholesome and tasty - one of the best hotel breakfasts I have had! The rooms were clean and comfortable and reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend the Glen and we may be back there in the future.

We had a five night stay and Chris and his staff were tremendously helpful and accommodating with our various requests in relation to our hill walking activities.The breakfasts very substantial with lots of choice.Likewise the evening meals.Always something to look forward to after a hard day on the hills.Room and en-suite were very comfy and well presented.Beds very comfy.All in all a really great stay and we would highly recommend staying here.

Everything from the warm welcome to the friendly cheerio from the staff was excellent. Rooms were very comfortable. Power shower was invigorating after a day in the hills. Bar service was brisk with a good selection of beers. Food was plentiful tasty and always served with a smile and some banter. All staff were happy cheery and made guests feel welcome. Nothing seemed too much trouble for them.We have visited to The Glen on several occasions over the past 20 years and we will certainly be back. An excellent family run establishment in Newtonmore. If visiting the area stay in The Glen.

Thank you for the review. The Glen Hotel prides itself on its flower display but due to the prolonged morning frosts we have had to delay our planting & hangingbaskets. We hope to heave these out by the end of May.

Sehr schön ausgestattete komfortable Zimmer. Das beste Frühstück,was wir seit unserem Aufenthalt in Schottland hatten. Es fehlte an nichts und man konnte auswählen,was wir möchten. Wir konnten nach einem Tipp direkt mit einer kleinen 1,5h Wanderung starten. Entlang den Schafweiden und einem Fluss entlang. Auf dem Rückweg entdeckten wir in jedem Vorgarten eine Katze,welche bunt bemalt war.Hier würden wir auf jeden Fall wieder übernachten.

Friendly pub in small village of Newtonmore.Had the feel of pub with rooms as you check in and out in the bar. Everywhere very clean. Service good.Dinner in bar was well prepared. As always a limited choice for gluten free, but venison was well cooked and tender. Breakfast had wide choice.I was amazed by how many huge lorries go through such a tiny village (not the hotel’s fault) and they were quite noisy. Not much traffic at night though.

Our walking and golfing group of 12 had a good time during our stay at The Glen. Comfortable clean rooms, good food and beverages and good service from Chris and his team. No hesitation in recommending the venue and good walks and golf available in the area.

A very clean hotel throughout. Staff always attentive and professional.We stayed only one night on our way home from Inverness.The food was basic but nice and there was a very good selection for breakfast including full cooked.We would like to stay here again when we are up this way again.

Our room was really nice and spacious with a good sized bathroom and a good shower and we had a friendly welcome and service throughout our stay. We had dinner in the bar, which was good, bar style food, and they were very accommodating to little requests that helped my daughter enjoy her meal. The breakfast was good with a range of options, including kippers. Although the legal requirement for face coverings has ended, it washedgood that covid measures were still being adhered to by the hotel and that there were sign up encouraging guests to wear masks.

The Glen is as good now as 20 years ago when I first came .Kim and Chris are the most amazing hosts .My memories are as wonderful now as years ago.Haggis is amazing!I will be back

The whole ambience of the hotel was one of genuine friendship.From checkin to checkout the staff and other guests were open to conversations. As a solo traveler this is always very welcome and it is what makes the difference between an average stay and a memorable stay. The Glen Hotel certainly ticked the box of a memorable stay. One night stop over on return for the highlands we had a comfortable stay with a good and full breakfast to send us on our way also eating in the restaurant for an evening meal which again was a good and value for money meal.

Excellent shower, bed, beer! Very good food. Wifi, TV fine. Bathroom shelf was loose and things fell off. One handle broken off shower door but easily overcome. Good little desk space for laptop.

The hotel was warm and welcoming, seeming to cope well with the Covid restrictions and staff shortages. There were only a few other people staying but many came for meals in the evenings. The food was a definite highlight, full of flavour and efficient, friendly service. I particularly liked the Cullen Skink and the Venison Casserole.

I’ll break down my review and give some advice at the end; The Welcome = 10 out of 10 as very welcoming and friendly. Knew exactly the details of my reservation even though only made online 25 mins earlier. Quick, efficient and informative. The Accommodation = 10 out of 10 as very clean and contactable including modern facilities. Well stocked tea and coffee. Good shower and Bath. Staff and Service = 11 out of 10 cleanly this is a well run Hotel and each member of staff have the exact same helpful and happy attitude to try to do more, not less for their guests. AND MY ADVICE….do not change anything …other than offer advice to other Hotels

this is the second time i have stayed at the Glen Hotel.The room and the facilities were great.once again the food was top notch. venison steaks (local), cairngorm ales, stornoway black pudding...the guys were super helpful too. will be back again.

The room was large and immaculate. Covid precautions in place so we felt very safe. Fantastic breakfasts and every evening meal was perfect. The staff are very friendly and helpful, we recommend and will definitely stay again

Room was good comfy bed loads of space good en suite with a bath, only issue was noise from the road.Food and service was great.We were a bit early and the hotel was completely locked up , although check in wasn’t until 3 we thought the hotel would be open but it doesn’t open until 3 so don’t go early.

Thank you for taking time to place a review. The 3:00 pm opening time is Winter only but it does clearly state in the pre arrival emails that the hotel is closed in each day until 3:00pm and therefore it is not possible to access the hotel any earlier.

Enjoyable short stay. Excellent ensuite room; tasty breakfast. On 2nd morning The Glen was unable to provide breakfast, so we were booked into the Newtonmore Grill where a very friendly and helpful lady served us an excellent meal.Thoroughly recommended hotel and grill.

Travelled to Newtonmore for a quiet weekend, just wanted to go for wee walks/drives and needed somewhere to have dinner, bed and breakfast.Customer service is excellent, so helpful, attentive and friendly. Very covid conscious, currently table service but relaxed and well looked after. Food good, full house on Saturday night with lots of locals too. Breakfast was very clever, tick sheet menu so you get exactly what you ask for, wide selection from toast and juice, cereals and cooked breakfasts.Staff also recommended local walks and drives which we did, seeing lots of deer and beautiful landscapes. Our room was spotless, although wee bit tired - completely understandable after no business in 2 years due to covid - but the bed was big and VERY comfortable. Prices very competitive. I am so happy we stayed there. We had the weekend we wanted and needed. Highly recommend. The staff are a credit to you, thank you.

We stayed for one night at the Glen Hotel and were very pleased with everything. We ate in the bar in the evening and enjoyed the food and the breakfast the next morning was very generous and tasty. We were especially impressed by the service and found everyone very polite, friendly and helpful.

I've stayed in a lot of hotels and the Glen Hotel is up there with the best of them in terms of attentive service and genuine friendliness.If you want a comfortable home-from-home and some great food, I'd heartily recommend it.

My sister and I stayed at The Glen Hotel for one night and service was amazing! We stayed in the King Suite which was very cozy with the most comfortable bed. In the morning we had breakfast which we could choose from a list as buffet style isn’t available due to Covid. Will definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone thinking about booking!Thanks for having us!

This is one of the nicest hotels that we have stayed in. Aa very comfortable and welcoming, unpretentious hotel which was taking all Covid precautions very seriously but in a pleasant and reassuring way. There was nothing not to like - our room was very spacious (king room) with a pleasant sitting area, large TV, controllable heating and a very nice bathroom with plenty of hot water. The bed was extremely comfortable with excellent pillows and lovely bed linen - worthy of a much more expensive hotel-so sleep quality was excellent. The bar was operating more like a restaurant but we were made welcome despite being early and never felt rushed in any way. The food was good and there was a great choice and lovely service and the same at breakfast. This was a lovely stay as an extra night on a holiday further north and we would certainly do that again to explore the Newtonmore area further or to stay for longer. Certainly the winter rates are excellent value. My only suggestion would be to repair the hotel name notice as the missing letters made my heart sink and wonder what we had come to - first impressions!

I travel a lot for business but this was a trip with my wife for some downtime. I can honestly say that this is one of the best hotels I have stayed in. The hotel takes Covid-19 precautions very seriously and for us that showed real professionalism and care. All the staff we excellent in every way. The room was very comfortable and clean and the food was excellent offering real value for money. We will defintely be back. Very highly recommended.

I booked a room here last minute after coming in for a pint when meeting some friends. Very welcoming staff doing everything they can in these covid times to help. The room itself is extremely nice for the price rage - the bed was HUGE, the carpet lovely and soft, and a wonderfully warm shower in a modern suite. The food and drink really hit the spot too. A great little gem of a place to base some highland adventures.

Great place to stay!

We stayed here for one night on a trip around Scotland. We met wit h a warm welcome and found all of the staff to be very friendly. The hotel was clean and tidy and our room was lovely. We had an evening mealchosen from a meal of simple but well cooked and presented food. We would come again.

We love the Glen.The staff are without exception friendly, efficient and polite.All appropriate Covid requirements are in place and done with minimum of fuss.The bedroom and en-suite were spotless and comfortable.The menu is extensive and every dish is freshly made and delicious.We would always stay here on our regular visits to the lovely village of Newtonmore.

I stayed at the hotel on the 14th of September. My room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. Both the evening meal and my breakfast were lovely (the breakfast particularly so). Excellent range of local beers and some beautiful whiskies. Staff were friendly and efficient. I was particularly impressed by the adherence to COVID related rules and ensuring that everyones stay was as safe as possible. I would definitely visit again.

Great couple of nights at The Glen again, stayed here a few times before and always a warm welcome from the hosts and staff. Good clean rooms, nice hospitality tray, good wifi connections. Breakfast is fab and good choices available for all (all table service just now) Great dinner menu as well with some "specials" like pie of the day, which I had and it was lovely, nice chunks of steak, fluffy puff pastry and great gravy. Definitely our choice to stay when visiting the area

We spent two nights here before and after a sponsored walk for wild Scotland. The Glen hotel was everything we hoped for! Very helpful and friendly staff, very good pub food in generous quantities and a lavish breafast (great if you are setting off on along day walking).We would definitely recommend it and stay there again.

Myself,partner and my grown-up daughter stayed the one night, although my family had stayed previously a few years ago under the same ownership, with dinner,bed and breakfast. This was an overnight stopover on our way to Outer Hebrides. Covid restrictions were still in place and explained at check in. Mealtimes were agreed and strictly enforced, don’t turn up early. All staff wore masks and tables and chairs were cleaned thoroughly in between guests. The food was good and tasty with generous portions and reasonably priced. The bedroom was comfortable. We needed to leave before breakfast to catch our ferry and the hotel offered us packed lunches which were left out for us to collect before we left. This was much appreciated.

We had another excellent stay at the Glen hotel.All of the staff were friendly and very helpful and although covid precautions were in place nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was up to it's usual great standard as was the breakfast the next morning. Highly recommended.

I was travelling to Inverness from North Wales to deliver an electric bike and Stayed over at the Glen Hotel on the way. I knew I was going to be late and called and asked if this was ok.Chris the owner said it would be fine and he would wait till I arrived.Chris was there to great me and even got a beer before last orders. Chris also let me put the electric bike somewhere safe rather than leave it in the van overnight.Breakfast was really good.

Really enjoyable stay at the Glen hotel. Staff were welcoming, friendly and the service was efficient. We were a group of eight adults staying for two nights to climb the Munro Gael Charn.The rooms were modern, clean and had obviously been updated.We ate in the bar area on both nights and the food was excellent both in quality and value for money. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay thank you so much.

Had an excellent overnight stay at the Glen Hotel. Nothing was too much trouble. Dinner was great, service was superb throughout from David in the bar to all the servers, and we had a great breakfast in the morning. Room was clean, and a great size. This is the third time my friend and I have stayed here when we're up for a Cairngorm hill trip and it feels like a home from home. Always clean and comfy and we always eat at the hotel as the food is wholesome and hearty (what is needed after a day up the hills). I stayed here whilst travelling between the Western Isles and Newcastle. It was very good; lovely staff, good food, very comfy bed. Close to the A9 but quiet.

This was our 2nd stay at the hotel and it didn’t disappoint. Room was very clean and very COVID safe. Food at night was a bit of a miss with many basic things e.g. salad missing from the menu. The special pasta needed herbs and Parmesan to bring out the flavour but was very bland. Great breakfast though

As our first time visiting the area it was a great base to allow us to explore, even better knowing that we could have an excellent evening meal on our return. Comfy bed, spacious room and a good sleep with a generous breakfast in the morning to start the day again. A very good 2 night stay on our way home from Orkney. From the minute we arrived the staff were very polite and friendly and very covid aware. All the staff kept this hotel very clean and covid safe .A very comfortable and clean double room. The evening food was very good with a good selection , plus a very tasty cooked breakfast. My stay at the glen hotel was amazing, the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Chris who booked us in even booked us a table for the England v Scotland football game which was fantastic. The food was excellent loved the rooms we got, we got upgraded too bigger room for the same price which I would like to say a big thankyou to Chris. Can't wait to book again hopefully next time it's covid free.

The staff at the Glen Hotel were very friendly, the selection and quality of the food was very good and the service was excellent. Everywhere in the hotel was spotlessly clean which made us feel comfortable and safe.

On a recent stay at the Glen Hotel we were very impressed with the arrangements which were in place with regard to adhering to covid regulations, there were numerous hygiene operations in place, with the staff continually cleaning all surfaces and there were even tissues to wipe down handles when leaving the toilet facilities, which was a great idea. We felt very safe in this hotel. There was nothing they hadnt thought of. We had been in another more expensive hotel prior to our visit to the Glen (which I will not name) and whilst the arrangements they had in place were fine, the Glen Hotel definitely came out on top.All the staff in the hotel are very friendly, efficient and the service very good and the food is first class.

We were so happy at being back at the Glen. The owners and staff were fantastic and made sure we were made welcome. Food as always was excellent and accommodation very comfortable. All covid protocols were in place and adhered to which was great to see as well. Looking forward to our next visit.

Our first trip away since lockdown restrictions eased. First guests in hotel since it reopened this week. Lovely clean and newly refurbished rooms. Meals were excellent value and the staff were all very friendly and welcoming.

Excellent service and good pub-style food. Rooms are quiet and clean. Very pleased they have managed to stay open during the various stages of lockdown.

This is the second time we have used the hotel whilst visiting the area to do fieldwork nearby. Even in these weird covid times, the staff made us feel very welcome, the food was great and the hotel well organised and appropriately safe and clean. Hope we will be able to stay there again in the new yearwhen we have more work to do in the area.Whilst these trip have been for work, the hotel seems a great place to visit with family also - maybe that will be able to happen again next year.Festive wishes,Mark

My husband and I stayed in the Glen Hotel for two nights. We were very happy with our stay. The hotel was easy to find, check in was seamless, and the room was lovely. The bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. I would happily stay again.

We have been a few times at the Glen Hotel. Believe me when I say this is an excellent place to stay. Owners, Staff, Food and of course cleanliness is top marks. Bad timing for us as we could not drink inside but they have an area outside with heating. Would definitely recommend to everyone. It is a perfect place plus the scenery I spectacular. Definitely go back over and over again.

We spent a very pleasant overnight stay in a recently modernised room at The Glen Hotel Newtonmore.Attentive and friendly host and also enjoyed a very tasty dinner - venison casserole was especially good - and great breakfast. Highly recommended if looking for somewhere to stay near to but away from busy Aviemore.

Very pleasant stay at Glen with every attention to detail on current COVID regulations. All felt very secure from sanitised room, to drinks in heated covered area, to dinner and breakfast. Compliments to chef, particularly on breakfast that set us up for a good walk ????Oh, and plentiful supply of hot, hot water much appreciated.

We had another wonderful stay at The Glen Hotel! Our last stay was three years ago and we have been trying to get back ever since. The Hotel was in excellent shape then and is still in beautiful shape now, with apparent updates as required. The owners and staff are so welcoming, friendly, and helpful, we felt so comfortable as guests.Most impressive this time around was the effort put forth into Covid 19 safety measures. It was a virtual symphony of safety protocol throughout our stay and especially at dinner where the tables were repeatedly santitized, menus washed down, social distance maintained and proper PPE worn at all times. Drinks were served outdoors in a comfy catering tent. Even our room had an adhesive seal on the door stating it had been deep cleaned and sanitized.The breakfast was delicious and a very pleasant experience, our service waiter was a great guy, just full of laughs and fun chat, while attending to our every whim (PPE of course!). The quality of the Stornoway Black Pudding, Sausage and Eggs are obviously a step above standard supermarket fare. Wish I could get that sausage.We will be returning to lovely Newtonmore soon enough and look forward to another stay in Room 9!Thanks guys!

Chris and his team have The Glen set up very efficient to address the continuing changing COVID situation - i felt very safe. Moving to more practical matters: food & drink excellent, service excellent, room excellent (its only a small hotel), and breakfast excellent. We stayed 6 nights and as per most hotels our room wasn’t serviced every day but sheets & towels were changed after 3 nights.

Really nice staff, very professional and organised. Very comfortable room, warm and great shower. Really strong on the Covid regulations.

Only positive things to say about the Glen Hotel.The staff is really nice.The room is quiet, the bed huge and cosy, and the bathroom lovely.There is plenty of options on the dinner's menu, everything was delicious.Same comment goes for Breakfast.I would recommend it.

The glen Hotel is ideally situated for exploring the Highlands.we dropped into see the wolves in the Highland Wildlife Park, over to Dalwhinnie Distillery for a dram, Up to Aviemore for a trip in a steam train and up to Inverness for the day.The hotel is spotlessly clean and serves the most delicious food.The staff are extremely helpful and friendly too.

Enjoyed our first two night stay at 'the glen' very much. Should have been part of an earlier walking trip that we cancelled due to covid restrictions and we were able to change dates with the hotel. So impressed - very comfortable accommodation but the big surprise was the extensive menu and fabulous food! Lamb shank and venison stew amazing! Didn't bother eating out in aviemore! A big thank you to all the staff who are multitasking and managing to observe the covid regulations so well. A truly difficult time in hospitality but we so appreciated being able to stay. And close to the Highland wildlife park, always worth a visit too! Planning to return to 'the glen' to paddleboard at loch Insh, also on their doorstep! Many thx.

Comfortable room. Great quality food in the bar and good breakfast too.Our room was freezing as radiator wasn't working, but the owner provided a powerful fan heater which worked a treat. The room was warm in 10 minutes. Problem solved.

We stayed here for a couple of nights for my husbands birthday. Room was lovely. Faces the road so a lot of traffic but we didn’t mind this at all! Bed and pillows were fab and we ate here both nights. Food was amazing! Best macaroni!

Given the current trying conditions it was a pleasure to stay at The Glen again.Every care appears to have been taken to make customers safe but retain the usual high level of service.The food was just as we have come to expect - good!The room was well presented with all unnecessary accoutrements removed and, of course, spotlessly clean

Having stayed at the Glen Hotel previously, we booked a short break in the knowledge that we would have an excellent stay and would be well looked after.The accommodation, meals, and service were first class and every safety precaution was in place due to the current guidelines regarding COVID 19.The staff and owners are all very professional and friendly, and my husband and I had a wonderfully relaxing break.We even had unseasonally warm sunny weather in which to enjoy the wonderful scenery of the area.

Very pleasent stay. The staff were very helpful. The included breakfast was delicious, and we felt very safe with covid measures they have. Only very sight niggle the traffic noise was a little loud and the could have been comfier. If we were staying in a room away from the road, im sure the noise levels would be much better.

We recently spent three night huts at the Glen Hotel and were so pleased that we chose this hotel.The whole place was spotlessly clean and it would be difficult to say what more the staff could have done to ensure our safety in terms of Covid-19 Precautions. They were meticulous in following hygiene processes.Our room was lovely, the bed enormous and comfortable and a wonderfully powerful shower.The dining areas were well managed with table service only. We were impressed by the level of Covid 19 precautions in place.The room was extremely clean and comfortable.We ate both nights in the restaurant and had very good and reasonably priced meals but the highlight for me was at breakfast. Stayed here for 5 nights, the hotel is very clean and well organised, it take Covid very seriously and has many safeguards in place. The room was a good size with a nice seating area and large bed, the bathroom was clean and looked recently refurbished.Breakfast had a good variety of both continental and cooked foods, we ate here in the evening on several nights and we found the food very nice with good portions, the Cullen Skink was gorgeous! We hope to visit again soon.

My daughter and I stayed for two nights for a family trip and this was our first stay anywhere with covidsafety measures in place. The hotel took the measures very seriously but in such a way that they still remained outstandingly kind and helpful. As an example free tea and coffee was available downstairs up to 9pm having had to remove the facilities from the rooms themselves.The room itself was very clean, light and bright with a fantastic ensuite shower room and super fluffy bathroom towels. The twin beds were very comfy with lovely warm duvets.Breakfast was very well organised and everything you would have wanted from a buffet was available on a printed tick list and the quality was outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble and everyone made us feel incredibly welcome and well looked after.We also used the evening dining with my sister and her daughter and despite the challenges of one of the party's allergies they could not have been both more thorough checking ingredients or more cheerful whilst doing so! The food when it arrived was absolutely delicious and better value than we had at a local restaurant. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone look for first class service with a cheerful smile.

A cosy, traditional hotel away from the bustle of Aviemore but still within an easy 20minute drive. Very courteous staff, amazing food, great range of real beers, good sized room with a fantastic shower! Everyone very accomodating and paid particular attention to recent COVID guidance which was very reassuring. Highly recommended and already suggested as a place to visit to friends and relatives. Comfy bed, well equipped clean room. From start to finish service was exceptional. Staff were helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. We are used to going to restaurants who promise to cater for my allergies but don't always live up to their promises. However, the Glen Hotel were absolutely fabulous and we would definately recommend them as I felt very relaxed and comfortable eating there. They served good quality, tasty, honest food without being too fancy- in fact their chips are amazing! As for the current covid situation, they are very well organised.

The stay at the Glen hotel was the main part of our trip in Scotland. From the moment you arrive, until you leave, the staff are extremely helpful & do everything they can to ensure your stay is good. I found the room exceptional clean, and well laid out. In the current Covid 19 restrictions, it was the best hotel & restaurant I have been too. Everything is explained & you could tell a great effort had been made to ensure everyone was safe.The food was of a very high standard as well. When returning to this part of Scotland, will be staying here again.

I’m not really a reviewer, however when a business excels then I feel I must.From arrival to departure we were made to feel at home, and nothing was too much trouble by the staff who served us. The quality and cleanliness of the room were suburb. Dinner and drinks in the evening, followed by breakfast the next day were fantastic.To top it off, our bikes were even locked away for the night, what more could I ask!Absolutely no hesitation in recommending or revisiting The Glen Hotel. Stayed for one night at this hidden gem.Everything from customer service ,food and accommodation was outstanding in every sense.Our room was lovely, everything was spotlessly clean and bed was super comfy .Venison casserole was delicious,the best chips and the bake well sponge was the best...huge portions!The staff were superb with the perfect balance , not intrusive but attentive all with a lovely manner.The breakfast was amazing...the best I’ve had ...I’ve travelled a lot fir business and this Glen is at the top of my list for Scotland.Thankyou this’ll at the Glen will most definitely be back.

Clean rooms, frendly staff, we enjoyd a nice meal in the restaurant not special but good and in a nice atmosphere. We did some nice hiking.

Cosy, comfortable with great food and drinks

Hotel was lovely - all the staff were wonderful. Rooms are slightly tired but overall really nice. The food at breakfast and dinner was great. Only slightly bad thing was the price changed between check in and check out and they reduced the amount I paid as a deposit (only by 54p but still). Also didn't automatically give you the 10% credit towards food as advertised on their website. Stay ended up costing us £14.34 more than advertised. Slight dampner on a lovely weekend.

Great hotel for our one night stay. Staff extremely pleasant very customer focused. Older style property but spotless throughout. Friendly bar brilliant food best battered fish I have eaten in along time. Breakfast was very good great selection of freshly cooked dishes with decent quality items which is often hard to find in many establishments. Lovely bread for toast. My only negative point would be the lack of water pressure in shower. We will certainly be back. Great to note breakfast is available to non residents which is often hard to find in many places.

We are sorry that you thought that the water presure in the shower was poor but all our rooms are fitted with powerful power showers but you do need to press the \'on\' button located next to the thermostat on the shower unit to get the pump to work. Without this the pressure will unfortunatly be poor. We\'ll look to see what we can do to mkae the instructions clearer. Thanks - The Glen Hotel

A great stay as usual and great hospitality.The only criticismI have was that it seemed very expensive for 2 nights.I had to change the original booking from a twin to a single as my Brother was unable to come as he had to go to Germany to attend his wife's Fathers funeral.I paid £50 deposit and then £101.00 when I checked out.Haydn Bannister

We stayed at The Glen for a one night break, having stayed a couple of times before. What we really like about this hotel is that you get exactly what they say you will.Very comfortable, warm room with a King Sized bed and an excellent shower.There are no real frills about the room but at the price you would not expect that. The hotel bar is friendly ( as are the staff) and atmospheric, with a good selection of beers, wines etc.The food is good and very reasonably priced.Breakfast provided plenty of options and was freshly cooked.If I was being picky, our first pot of coffee was a bit cold but we soon got a fresh one.There is no lounge in the hotel but the bar is the centre of things.Overall a really good stay

I normally take my small dog with me and it is such a shame that she would not be welcome at this hotel. I loved the hotel, the room was very good decor and comfort with a good shower. Bar and restaurant excellent with one of the best Scottish breakfasts anywhere, outside seating in summer catered for, all good except until dogs are welcome I wont be back, come on get with 2020 I suspect you are loosing out, even if you had a couple of dog friendly rooms.

I recently stayed at The Glen Hotel and was given Room 8. It was a very clean spacious room with a huge comfortable bed I had a fabulous sleep in. I enjoyed a nice meal in the bar and the breakfast was superb. I would definitely stay here again.

The ethos at the Glen is all - I was made welcome, but the difference lay in how the staff (all I came into contact with) dealt with requests.Always keen to help, find a solution and give the stong impression that me as the guest was the important one.Thanks you for that.

Me and my partner booked The Glen again for our trip to Newtonmore, we have been visiting Newtonmore for 8 years now. The stay was great, we had room 10 which we had the last time we stayed. Clean room, comfy bed and pillows. Aspalls Cyder on tap, and good pub grub. Staff are always lovely and friendly. Great little weekend getaway at a great pub. We will definitely be back again soon.

Could not have asked for a better stay. Lovely room, great food and exceptional staff. We stayed New Year’s Eve, it was very busy but the staff were still just fabulous, even at breakfast after a very late night! Couldn’t recommend the Glen more.

We stayed here for 3 nights from 30th January. Overall, we were very happy. Our room was comfortable, all the staff were helpful and pleasant.Being New Year, there was some noise from the bar but we know the hotel well and expected it. It didn't detract from our stay. We were disturbed the first night by a faulty refrigeration unit, but I spoke to the owner and he simply turned it off.We would gladly stay here again, our thanks to everyone at the hotel.

One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in and that is a lot.The staff are extremely friendly with time for everyone. Nothing is any trouble for them.Spotlessly clean. Superb bedroom with a bathroom to match.The food is excellent with a good range and breakfast starts the day perfectly. We stayed three very enjoyable nights and every morning met with the gentleman serving breakfast. What a great bloke always had a smile on his face and kind words to say.Poached eggs absolutely bang onI’d recommend the Glen Hotel to anyone. I know they wouldn’t be disappointed.

The rooms were comfortable and clean. New updated bathrooms with power showers. Only complaint is no lift, but the gentleman working there was very nice and helped us get our bags up stairs (only 2 stories, but it would be difficult for someone with mobility issues). The staff were very friendly, and the food in the restaurant was delicious! Several good vegetarian options were also available. Would recommend!

Recently stayed at the Glen Hotel during a business trip, received a warm welcome on arrival and was allocated a comfortable room that was tastefully decorated. The breakfast was delicious and I thoroughly enjoyed my chat with Dave who was serving breakfast. This is the perfect place to stay when visiting the Cairngorms’.

My daughter and I spent two nights at the Glen Hotel. We were very happy with the room which was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast variety was great and our cooked breakfast was hearty and generous to set us off for the day at the Highland Wildlife Park. Dinner was very delicious and generous portion. The staff were very friendly. We had great conversation with David who served us breakfast and he gave us the direction to the Park which much more straight forward than the google map. Very grateful for that. The location of the hotel is ideal for the Wildlife Park too. We would definitely like to return when the opportunity arises. Great room, superb food and very friendly staff.

We overnighted at the Glen Hotel at the end of November. The hotel was warm and welcoming - as were the staff.The room was excellent, very well equipped, clean and spacious.We ate in the bar/restaurant. The food was tasty and cooked to perfection. And reasonably priced.This hotel has made in on to our "Must Visit Again" list.

Our room was comfortable, with a bright en suite shower room. We enjoyed our dinner and breakfast, and it was good as a vegetarian to have a choice of several main courses on the dinner menu. We felt that the best thing of all was the welcome we received on arrival-(especially after a long, dark journey!)-and the friendly, helpful manner in which we were treated

We stayed at the Glen for 4 nights in Connection With a Family wedding nearby. The owners and the staff just could not do enough for us from the moment we arrived until we left!They were so helpful and friendly at all times.Mr. Fitzgibbons himself went far out of his way on a busy Saturday night to help us With a surprise 'Viking visit' at the wedding, which we will all be forever gratful for! The Food in the bar and in the breakfast rooom was always fresh, beautifully cooked, and there was plenty of it! Great selection too. The rooms were very comfortable, spotlessly cleanand had everything you would need.We would throughly recommend The Glen Hotel if you're planning the Newtonmore area!Thank you all for a wonderful stay!

This hotel is truly recommendable. Superfriendly staff, very clean rooms including the bathrooms and properly working showers. The breakfast buffet was delightful and the food at the restaurant very good as well. We will be back for sure.

From the exterior this hotel had the look of a wonderful old building. The inside was full of friendly staff - especially David who coached us through our meal choices and whiskey options. The meals and atmosphere were well above average and the room was the best we had during our three weeks in Scotland: large, all modern amenities and excellent.

Overall we had a successful stay. The room was clean and the breakfast was fantastic.The only grievance we would have, is that the night manager is particularly unfriendly and very unhelpful. This is the second negative experience we have had with him on our yearly trip to the area.Apart from that we had a lovely stay with you.Thank you, Dan.

The Glen was the perfect place. Just the right distance to stay coming from Edinburghgoing to Portree. Breakfast meal was welcome addition to our stay. Everyone was extremely friendly and pleasant. Wonderful hospitality

Our second stay was just as good as the first -comfortable modern room and a good choice of food in the bar/bistro.The staff are exceptionally friendly and efficient.The only downside was the very poor flushing mechanism in the toilet, and shower stall doors that would not quite close, resulting in a spray of water on the tiled floor - a potential slipping hazard.

Been coming back here for year after year..why? Comfy spotless,warm rooms. Great shower. Great selection of beer. Brilliant warm comforting pub grub,the hosts and the staffs service is brilliant. Breakfast is magic... need I say more? Me and the wife travel all over Scotland, and this is our favourite highland hostelry. Bravo big Chris and Kim.

I booked direct with the hotel to ensure that I got the perfect room at the best rate, and was rewarded with a 10% discount voucher on their restaurant food! Room was brilliantly quiet, clean and spotless; breakfast was generous and kept me going throughout the day (and served until 10.00am, half an hour beyond the usual 9.30!). The restaurant was busy on both nights, Sunday and Monday which can be a quiet time, but says a lot for the food which was spot-on (BBQ ribs with extra onion rings!). Lambs liver was also on the daily specials menu, but I decided to go for the "comfort option" as I was on holiday! Easy access to the Wildlife Park which I would strongly recommend to any visitor to the area. All-in-all, a 10 out of 10. Really enjoyed my stay. Thank you.

I’m travelling through Scotland on my bicycle and this is the best hotel I’ve stayed on my journey. The rooms are well decorated and clean, the food is good, the beer excellent and the staff helpful and friendly. I thought it was good value and intend to stay again with my wife.

Stayed at the Glen Hotel Newtonmore for Two Nights easy to find from the A9 booked in was painless and informed our room was no10 which is on the second floor, no lift so up two sets of stairs.The room a double which was very spacious with large queen size bed, sheets and duvet were of good quality and well laundered, the room had the usual comforts like large Double wardrobe with plenty of hangers a desk which held the tea and coffee making facilities , a good sized TV a comfy chair and a stool also two bedside tables there was a hairdryer the desk drawer as well as tourist information etc, no phone our cases fitted on top of the wardrobe out of the way.The on suite was olso decent size and had a bath with shower good quality Towels and the toiletries consisted of two dispensers attached to the wall.Great free WiFi with a good connection to WWW.The hotel does not have a residents lounge so chill out in the bar we also had our evening meals served in the bar, breakfast was in the dinning room.All meals were excellent especially the freshly cooked breakfast Evening meal in the bar choices made from a reasonable menu with fresh produce also the bar was well stocked, for us only down side was the bar was very busy and noisy and the tables a bit crowded on second night we asked for a table in the side room off the bar which at first was very pleasant but the calm was disrupted by a couple of young women with two young children who were all very loud, we rushed our meal and skipped the sweet treats and drink, what made the situation worse was when we came out of the Bar bar after our meal they had let people into the dinning room an option not offered to us!!.Apart from the dinning experience the staff throughout our stay were excellent very pleasant and helpful and kept the hotel very clean and tidy, We would stay again hence the 5 stars

Wir waren mit einer größeren Gruppe Motorradfahrer 3 tage im Hotel und waren sehr zufrieden. Die Mitarbeiter und Inhaber waren erstaunlich freundlich und offen für englische Verhältnisse. Der Pub im Haus ist super. Wir hatten nichts auszusetzen. Man konnte abwechslungsreich Abends essen.Es kommen auch sehr viele Einheimische.

On our way to the Northern Highlands we stayed a night in the Glen Hotel in Newtonmore. Perfectly situated a few miles from the A9 in quiet surroundings. Very friendly staff, modern bathroom, well equiped room and great beds. Lovely fresh cooked English Breakfast. Great hotel for exploring the countryside.

This is one of those Scottish gems, in a beautiful part of the Highlands.We had food in the restaurant, it was a generous portion and well priced.The Staff were very well organised and obviously trained to a high level.I would not hesitate to recommend The Glen Hotel. Well done Everyone.

If we are ever near the Cairngorms for a wee break,this is the first place I look at for availability. Love it.

We have stayed at the Glen Hotel previously andhave always had a good experience. Clean bedrooms, comfy beds, great shower with plenty of hot water. The evening meal was cooked to perfection.The breakfast was also very good too.I do wish there were bath sheets instead of bath towels, but that is a minor niggle.We will certainly be back again!

The awesomeness of this hotel is that everything is so well organised that when you arrive. It is like coming home. One place to eat, drink, relax and sleep. The people are very nice. Evening meals were served with chatty, helpful staff and were of a good qualityand nice presentation.Breakfast was buffet and hot food if desired.Plenty of choices.Nothing was too much bother as all requests were met with a cheery smile.Will definately return and recommend.Quiet setting with beautiful scenery, walks and places of interest nearby.

We have been staying at The Glen for many years now and we have never been disappointed. There is always a warm welcome, in fact it feels like coming home. The rooms are spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We enjoy eating in the bar where there is always a good selection of food and a friendly atmosphere. We will definitely be back!

Had a lovely stay, requested King size bed if possible and wasn’t disappointed in fact the bed was huge!The food was very good and plentiful with friendly staff, Will definitely be returning.

For what is effectively a pub/restaurant with rooms, this is hard to fault. The staff are attentive, the food is good and everybody is very friendly. Good value too.

What a great hotel . Room was spacious , spotless & decorated to a high standard . There was a great atmosphere in the bar & our food was very good . The staff were very attentive . I’d definitely recommend this place as a stop over in the highkands

I've stayed at the Glen on four occasions over the past two months. The rooms look like they have recently been refurbished, are clean, well presented and furnished. The Glen have a varied menu of which I have tried most dishes, all good, the breakfast also is varied and very good, compliments to the kitchen staff.The hotel staff are friendly and attentive, nothing negative to say about them.One pointer, a few more milk containers would be appreciated.

My Daughter works in Newtonmore and recommended I book the Glen.Really friendly people couldn’t be more helpful, just create the best atmosphere for anyone’s stay.Food is top notch, would highly recommend potatoe skins with pulled pork amazing, main I played safe and had scampi & chips and probably best I’ve had. Then breakfast !!!!!! Only criticism I have it was too much couldn’t eat it all.Thank you for lovely couple of days.Pete Smith
